Building a good relationship with other bloggers is a must if you want to become a successful blogger. It is something I always do when I join a new community.
I talk and interact with every user I see on the platform, just making genuine conversations.
Once the relationship is established, that is the time to try collaborating with them. You can ask if they accept guest posts on their website.
Not because you only built a relationship for that purpose, but because you want to create connections that you can rely on, a circle that will support your growth.
And if they refuse your offer, do not take it negatively or personally. Keep the friendship.
Guest posting does not always have to come from a friend; it can also be from a stranger on the internet.
How Do You Actually Build Backlinks?
Start by collecting emails or websites that accept guest posts. I usually search on Google for something like “[your niche] write for us” or “[your niche] guest post.”

From there, choose the best websites to reach out to and make sure to read their guidelines carefully before sending your draft.
Here is the email format that I use:
Hi, [name]!
I am an avid reader of your blog and I liked your recent post about [title of their recent post]. Here are the lessons I got from it:
- Lesson 1
- Lesson 2
- Lesson 3
I realized that… [share your reflection or insight about their post].
Because of that, I thought of sharing my knowledge related to your topic. Here is my proposed title: [title of your blog post]. If you are open to it, we can set up a collaboration. I believe your readers (like me!) will love this.
Looking forward to your response!
Regards,
[your name]
People love validation and feedback. Writers appreciate every single compliment, comment, or reflection, whether it is good or bad, because it makes us feel seen.
That is why I always start my email by sharing what I learned from their post. It shows that I genuinely read and understood it.
Then I transition into something personal and emotional, and finally, the proposal.
This format works most of the time, but remember that you will have a higher chance of getting a reply if you reach out to bloggers who are on the same level as you.
If you are just starting, avoid reaching out to big names in the industry who have already been thriving for years.
The chances of success are smaller at first, but it is not impossible. With consistency and a better understanding of blogging, you will get there.
This is also one of the reasons why I created my 26-page e-book about my five-year blogging experience. I did not share tips or hacks, just pure lessons and realizations from my journey.

Anyway, going back, I do not really enjoy outreach that much, especially when people do not reply. But there are many websites that still accept guest posts and are open to collaboration.
If you are interested, you can try the email format I shared above and see how it works for you.
Just remember to stay consistent, read their guidelines, and build genuine relationships because blogging is all about connections.
So, Does Guest Posting Really Work in 2025?
We do not know yet, maybe. I sent a few emails to websites from the same niche, and I am still waiting for their replies. I will keep this updated in the next few weeks to share whether I got a guest post or not.
