“AI will replace the writers soon!”
That is what they said, but I would say NO.
AI can’t replace us, but it can help and assist us.
I always find a way to make my work easier. I look for help to create more ideas for my writing — and this is how I discovered ChatGPT.
I asked about the topic I wanted to write about, and it was like opening Doraemon’s pocket; it gave me everything I was asking for.
Since then, I decided to use it as my personal assistant and make my work easier.
Here’s what my old system looked like…
I grabbed my pen and notebook, wrote the title, thought of ideas, and jotted them down in a bullet-list format. Then I would start creating an outline from it.
This kind of process usually took me 30 minutes to 1 hour to finish. That included thinking of ideas and dealing with writer’s block.
I admit that I still experienced it, and it lessened my productivity.
It felt like editing and writing in this system took forever.

But…
I knew I needed to find an alternative way to write and create an outline. I needed to be consistent in writing and produce quality content that my readers needed.
This is when I started opening ChatGPT, writing my secret prompt, and creating an outline based on my ideas.
I value my own ideas.
I don’t want to get stuck or fully rely on AI. I still think of the ideas and context; AI just helps me.
This process saves me a lot of time, creates an outline with clarity, and systematizes my ideas based on what my readers want to read.
I was happy and excited to see ChatGPT type everything I needed with just a click of the ENTER button.
After writing everything on my laptop, I copy and paste it into my assistant [ChatGPT], then let it edit my post without removing the human touch.
You can read my previous post here and learn about the prompt I use to edit my work without removing the human touch.
I Use ChatGPT To Edit My Post — Here’s My Secret Prompt That You Can Steal (AI-free)!
For over 3 years of writing, I have always used Grammarly to edit my content. But now, I use chatGPT.medium.com
Sometimes, it’s funny that ChatGPT misunderstands my intent, so I have to ignore its suggestions and rewrite them myself.
AI can still make mistakes.
This is why human touch still matters
We don’t have to fully rely on AI.
Work creatively using your own brain.
Remember, your brain is like a muscle; you have to train, exercise, and use it to work at its full potential.
I still write and share my ideas with ChatGPT so I can use my brain and ensure I maintain my voice.
Here’s the prompt that I use:
Create an outline for my blog. I want to write it like a personal story, and the context is about [your topics and ideas].
In my four years of experience in writing, I’ve learned that writing in a storytelling and personal style is the best way to share your ideas and thoughts.
I always try to avoid technical writing where I have to explain everything in a very formal way until my readers lose interest.
Hence, I write everything like a story. I tell my readers what is working and what is not. I don’t want to confuse them.
From the prompt, I make sure the outline is like storytelling. Then, in the bracket, I write the context and ideas I want to include in my outline.
It’s like brainstorming with your personal assistant. Then it creates a perfect outline based on your ideas.
I always try to be specific with my ideas so all those creative juices won’t go anywhere.
This new system helped me succeed as a writer
I love this new system compared to my old one.
Here, I can:
- Reduce my time writing blogs (so I can write more)
- Gain more engagement because of well-structured posts (difficult transitions no more!)
- Ensure I don’t miss a single piece of information my readers need
I believe this process saved me a lot of time and helped me grow on this journey.
I don’t encourage everyone to do the same, but you can always try and tell me about your experience.
You can integrate it into your old system so you won’t be shocked by the sudden transition.
Start by writing all your ideas in your notebook or whatever tool you use, then use the prompt to generate an outline based on your ideas.
Then start writing.
It’s up to you if you want to use it as your editor as well, but I do it to make my work easier.
You can always experiment and learn the most effective workflow that works for you.
I believe it is okay to embrace AI while keeping your creativity alive.
Remember, AI is not writing for you; it just helps you create an outline to produce a well-structured post.
I always keep it balanced so I still let my brain function.
