Writing Was Not My Passion

I started writing in 2019 (November, if I recall correctly) before the pandemic began. I was looking for a source of income during the pandemic. 

We did not have classes at school, and I had a lot of free time.

So, I asked myself, “Why not take this as an opportunity to start exploring new things?”

I looked for ways to earn money on the internet, and someone sent me a message about a platform that pays cryptocurrency when you write.

I completely ignored it at first, but I joined later after learning about its potential. 

I remember that during my first week on the platform, I was a spammer, plagiarizing content from the internet, thinking that it would be easy money.

I was paid, but it did not last long because the system discovered that I was plagiarizing content and then suspended my account.

That day, I learned my lesson.

Hence, I decided to create a new account, use a username that I still use today, and completely start from scratch. 

I did not plagiarize content anymore; instead, I wrote in my own words and began publishing poorly structured blogs.

I was still getting paid.

I might cringe when reading my old blogs on that platform, but I will never forget it, as I started my writing journey there.

Writing felt like a job for me at that time. I felt that I had to show up to earn money. While this was true, I realized that there was something more to writing.

I started making friends, interacting with big users, and building connections with them. We even started a group to encourage more users to write.

And then, I realized that writing is not all about money but a skill that everyone should take advantage of to keep their creativity alive.

As time passed, the platform started to lose its investors. Users began leaving until it lost momentum and became inactive.

But I wanted to stay consistent with my writing routine.

I looked for an alternative where everyone could read my posts. I jumped from platform to platform, sharing my words, knowledge, and ideas on the internet.

Until I decided to start writing seriously and build my own website, this website became my space to express myself and share my knowledge. 

Some of my old friends from different platforms joined me on this journey, and they still visit and read my blogs.

It is always nice to build your online presence. It helps you build credibility and confidence (somehow). I love showing my work in simple ways, but I still fear criticism and regret starting my journey using my real name. 

I wish I could blog using a pen name.

But anyway, it was all a worthwhile experience in writing.

Writing has become my habit, and it is already part of my system. I do not focus solely on its monetary side, but I always want to show up for my audience and build my online presence.

It is always better to create something than to consume.

While money is not my main focus for now, I still want to make a living through writing. 

I think it is a dream for every writer out there. And even though I have a lot of experience in writing, I can’t focus all of my attention on it. 

Maybe that is why I have not grown as much as I expected — I still have a lot of priorities in life. But when the right time comes, I will.
